The Prime Season For Hay Fever

Here are some quick and easy tips for avoiding or at the very least, taming the sniffles. The Ayurveda's healers of India recommend swabbing your nostrils every morning with raw, natural, cold pressed sesame oil. This will work to lubricate and clear your overworked sinuses. How simply is that? Sesame Oil is full of important vitamins that will actually help feed the body as well as balance it.

Another very beneficial trick for relieving the symptoms of hay fever is to fill a pot with the rind and white pith of lemons, grapefruits and oranges. Add a few tablespoons of raw honey and a tablespoon of either sesame oil or extra virgin olive oil. Heat to a boil and then turn the heat down to a simmer. Allow the mixture to simmer until the rinds are soft. Cool the mixture and then add 2 tablespoons of vodka to act as a preservative. Keep in the refrigerator for up to three weeks. Eat a few pieces on the days when you are especially congested. The pith and the rinds will act as a natural antihistamine and decongestant without making you drowsy.

WOW! When I was a little girl my Grandmother would always encourage us to eat the white stuff, now I wonder if she knew something special about it? Thanks for all of your great posts. I can't wait for the next one.
